Walter Eiserer, who worked for Gary Herman for years, before he moved up to Salt Point, NY, does the nicest pigskin (and other leathers) full pads I have ever seen. He's pretty much retired but still does work for Charles at Brit. Sporting Arms.

Dean makes a good point, in that a full covered pad does look real good on a straight stock, but installing a skeleton iron only requires inleting at the heel and the iron is scribed to the stock and finished. A good stock guy who also works in metal can do this without any sanding or refinishing of the side of the stock. Walter did one of these for my dad, many years ago, on a gun that had a piece added with a rubber pad. (The previous owner must have been a gorilla, as it was 15.5" long.)

I never heard of this guy, but I'm not even sure what my next-door neighbor's name is either. Maybe you could get one made in plain steel.

That is Glenn Fewless, a forum member and poster here. Glenn will make a skeleton butt plate of damascus sheet metal or he will make a Parker correct butt plate to size of mild steel. I've posted photos of Glen's work here before, including his butt plates , and he is a friend of Doug Mann the stockist.

Glenn may be contacted through the member's list.

Or you can just buy that damascus skeleton butt plate listed on Gunbroker.com directly from me as I'm the one that has it listed. How many of your neighbor's have a damascus skeleton butt plate for sale?

I doubt any of my neighbors even own a gun, this old cow town has turned into a haven for left wingers.
