You need to file on the forend lug just a little to make the forend latch clip in more easily. This will prevent from recoil wanting to pop it open.

What I suspected Brian thanks, question now is exactly where should I gently file? Assuming side towards the breech and on the angle part of lug? Or should I smoke it to see wear points?

Dressed down lug and not the lever snaps into place, thanks Brian. Now to Thomasville Ga and put it to work.
