WOWOW!!!! That is outstanding!!! Any secrets??? The reason I ask, is tomorrow I'm picking up a GH (DAM) in 16 - 0 frame - and the wood looks EXACTLY like your "before" pics..??

The secret is....pay someone who knows what he is doing I posted pics (or to tell the truth somebody did it for me) of a GH 16 0 frame Dam (sound familiar John?) on a thread called the Money Pit. The same guy did both stocks. For me here's the real upside...A) An excellent job, B) turn around time less than a month, C) cost to strip and refinish the wood and recut the checkering $250. IMHO a real bargin.

My GH, 16 DAM - 0 frame could use a bit of lipstick, and frankly - there is no one in these parts who I can tap on the shoulder to do as good a job as what was done on yours...??

You had me worried Anderson... When I saw pictures posted of your G I thought you were getting Tech savy Glad to know thats not true...
That stock came out great...Be fun to see it in a few weeks at the Lapeer shoot.

I would like to thank everyone for the positive feedback on this project. When you refinish a gun and give up it's "originality" that sends up a red flag for some who would say "how dare you" and "the collector value is ruined". I don't think I've ruined the value at all, it's a hunting gun and one that will see lots of use this fall in the Grouse woods.

For everyone who has PM'd me regarding getting the contact info let me just say this. I have known this gunsmith for over 25 years and I'm sure he wouldn't mind getting more work BUT he is in Florida fishing and I can't/won't offer his contact information without his prior approval. I have no idea what finish he used but he did give me a jar of it to use as needed
