Not to take away from anything anyone else said , but if it were me I'd take the thing out and put about 500 shots thru it before I decided to change anything .

I fully understand making it more presentable and agree , however ability to hit is an important factor to me as well . Who knows the way it is at the moment may be perfect for you once you shoot it some and you can always replace it later .
