She's a beauty. 30" Barrels, F/F, 14 1/4, 1 9/16, 2 9/16, 6 lbs 12 oz. Very beefy stock.

Nice gun! The stock could be a trap comb, or what Parker called a "medium full comb." I have a three guns with this stock and shoot them very well.

Have gun with your nice gun.

Very nice

That is a fine example. Item 1 on your checklist should be to get the poorly fitted whiteline pad off of it. It would do the gun good.

That's my plan. I also hope to use the pad replacement to fine tune the fit. If I can verify that the red mid rib bead is not original that will be replaced as well.

Nice gun!! A straight grip, 30-inch barrel,16-gauge, should be a great handling gun. Gotta say, those are some ugly birds on the trigger plate!!

:rotf::rotf::rotf: Maybe I caught them in a bad light. As it is my 2nd D grade gun and by far the strongest remaining engraving, I think they're perfect. Haha. I think the engraver's attempt at the pheasant eye patch may have gone awry.

Dan, I'd take Parker engraving from that era over today's Bulino or banknote engraving any day. If one is looking for anatomical rendering, go to another source. It's all part of the charm and mystic of a Parker.

What the others said. Get the pad replaced and it will do you proud

CraigThompson 05-18-2022 10:23 PM

Not to take away from anything anyone else said , but if it were me I'd take the thing out and put about 500 shots thru it before I decided to change anything .

I fully understand making it more presentable and agree , however ability to hit is an important factor to me as well . Who knows the way it is at the moment may be perfect for you once you shoot it some and you can always replace it later .
