You can fit a black spacer to the butt, and have a protrusion to fill the widow's peak. Then a pad of your choice. No permanent mods that way, and it can be returned to original by turning a couple of screws.
I have seen this done, and the results look good.

Todd: The butt plate is a flat DHBP with no "widows peak" so I think I can just remove it and add a pad.
