It ought to be a great gun for doves, Bruce ......... and quail as you described. And you can always open those chokes the easy, non-invasive way with spreaders. They would likely make it into a SK/M choked gun, but patterning would tell for sure.

There are several pads that would look good on it, and give you more LOP, without harming the original dimensions of the wood. I like the period style pads, Hawkins, Jostam, Silvers, etc.

I'm getting a little anxious about my 32" DHE getting back to me for the mid and late upcoming dove seasons. It's off having the triggers tuned and has been gone, along with my Elsie 32" 16 ga., for several months with no word. I don't really expect to hear anything until they're done, but I sure want to see Jim Kelly's name pop up on my cell phone screen!
