A three day state championship trap shoot was/is a 700 target program, add a few practice rounds and shoot offs and it's 800+. Maine has held some 4 day 1000 target state shoots in the past. Maine and NH State championships were for a time on back to back 3 day weekends which made for a lot of shooting.

VA state skeet shoot back then was 600 over 4 days . Prelim on Thursday , 410 and 28 Friday , 20 and doubles Saturday then the 12 gauge event on Sunday . I think they’ve turned the gauges around now so folks can get oughtta there quicker on Sunday since way fewer 100’s with the 410 . I never did the VA State Trap except the 50 bird SxS thing a couple times . But any trap shoots I did were generally just 200-16 , 100 handicap and 50 pair of doubles . Trap never turned my crank as skeet did .
