so we believe the barrels are complete and originally 24"?

Thanks for checking hte book. Too bad it is not listed.

Mine wasn't listed either. Maybe the book left out 16 gauges for some reason?

Umm, I'm not sure about the barrels on yours: Concerning the picture of your barrels on the previous page, do you have them upside down where the front bead is hidden, or is it missing? You need to look at how the rib ends on yours and compare it to Bruce's photo of the unaltered one. Does the end of the bar on the top have the flat, horizontal edge shown, or has the bar been cut off? If it has it and the bead, then maybe it's original. My 16 ga appears to be missing that feature and it has a different bead, a brass stud, instead of the one shown, so I'm thinking mine was cut. If you can get someone to check the interior barrel diameters to determine the choke, you would have a better idea if they were cut. Mine are both near Improved Cylinder now (0.655 inches). If yours are not cut, I would expect them to have two different chokes, possibly full/modified or such.
