John,
I think you are fudging a little....I believe your wife might do the turkey thing on your anniversary. Mine wouldn't.

Hey Mike!!

Well, as today is my anniversary - your wife must know my wife??!! Nope - no luck getting her out early to go hunting..???!!

Last night, she asked what we'll do this evening.. I told her "Tell you what sweetheart, I'll make you dinner..". As the words left my mouth, my mind was already cranking... Fresh Pheasant - marinated, done over wild rice. A fresh side of tomatoes & cucumbers, carrots with sugar sauce and cinnamon, maybe some chucker and/or woodcock on the side and fresh baked bread (yes - I do cook a lot..).. As my mind was whirling with the possibilities - she simply stated "Your not going to make me another pheasant dinner, are you????"

I poo-pooed her thought by saying "No, that's OK.." She must have read my disappointment on my face or in my voice - maybe both.. I dun'no...??

So - this AM - sent her a dozen roses to her office in an arrangement I helped design.... The card I sent - was actually a sympathy card from the florist - beginning "With my sincerest sympathy" imprinted across the top.. I could tell you what I wrote below that - but, it's kind'a sappy...

So - I went hunting with my dog for four hours instead this afternoon - a wonderful fall day in New England... I'm happy. My puppy is happy. And my wife is happy...

That's my story - and I'm sticking to it...
