Fall Turkey pic.
Just thought I'd post a picture of my Fall turkey taken on Oct. 16. A nice mature hen taken at about 27 yards. I used my VH 12ga. 28" bbls. choked
.037 each barrel and using Kent Matrix 2 3/4" 1 1/8oz. #5 shot. I'm going to mount this bird for use as a decoy in the future so hopefully she'll bring in more birds for me. I was hunting with my wonderful wife all last week and was lucky enough to take the bird on our anniversary. Pretty wonderful having a wife who'll spend their anniversary in a turkey blind. I'm very blessed. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...H/DSCN0263.jpg |
Wow!!! And for a couple of reasons..! First - GREAT photo!!! Second - nice looking VH, Bob! Third WOW is for your wife..!! If she has a moment, can she call my wife to tell my wife how to spend an anniversary (our is around the corner ;) )...
 John |
Yes--great photo! And a cool story, as well! :corn:

John,
I think you are fudging a little....I believe your wife might do the turkey thing on your anniversary. Mine wouldn't. Mike |

Well, as today is my anniversary - your wife must know my wife??!! :) Nope - no luck getting her out early to go hunting..???!! Last night, she asked what we'll do this evening.. I told her "Tell you what sweetheart, I'll make you dinner..". As the words left my mouth, my mind was already cranking... Fresh Pheasant - marinated, done over wild rice. A fresh side of tomatoes & cucumbers, carrots with sugar sauce and cinnamon, maybe some chucker and/or woodcock on the side and fresh baked bread (yes - I do cook a lot..).. As my mind was whirling with the possibilities - she simply stated "Your not going to make me another pheasant dinner, are you????" I poo-pooed her thought by saying "No, that's OK.." She must have read my disappointment on my face or in my voice - maybe both.. I dun'no...?? So - this AM - sent her a dozen roses to her office in an arrangement I helped design.... The card I sent - was actually a sympathy card from the florist - beginning "With my sincerest sympathy" imprinted across the top.. I could tell you what I wrote below that - but, it's kind'a sappy... So - I went hunting with my dog for four hours instead this afternoon - a wonderful fall day in New England... I'm happy. My puppy is happy. And my wife is happy... That's my story - and I'm sticking to it... ;) John |
John,Happy Anniversary....to your better half and yourself...And congratulations on making the right moves...
We must all remember the old adage"If Momma ain't happy...Nobody's Happy.. |
Congratulations John & Jen on ____ (recipient to fill in blank) years of wedded bliss.
I sincerely hope your evening is every bit as rewarding :smiley7: (tie the dog outside) |
Congratulations, John!!! I told you, "you were pretty smooth", you came through again. Just joking a little about Vanessa, she wouldn't go, but she would want to try to make sure I got to do what I wanted, but I probably wouldn't want to do anything much on our anniversary.
