Loving to play "Damascus and Twist Roulette" I will shoot any 12 gauge off the shelf that is 1oz or less at 1200 fps or less. When I reload I keep it under 8000psi.
I am not sure about todays loads, but modest Italian shells as described above were kept at lower pressures out of deference to the many old guns still in use.
