I corresponded with Mr. Baer while working on The Parker Story. He was most helpful and I am thankful for his cooperation. I recall meeting him at a Las Vegas show and remember a lecture he gave to a PGCA group. Wish I had been able to visit with him more.

Default Parker Book Authors

With the passing of author's Larry Baer, Ed Muderlak, and Peter Johnson an abundance of Parker Gun information is forever lost. I have head it said that "when an author of a book dies a library of information goes with them"!
Larry helped contribute to the history, mystique and over-all knowledge of the "Old Reliable". Thanks, Larry!!

Default Passing of a great guy

I guess what's shocking for me is that for all of his accomplishments and the things he gave to so many walks of life that's it's all summed up in a couple of paragraphs in a local paper.

I certainly hope those that knew him well will be able to document some of the details of his accomplishments in an article in one of the industry periodicals like Shooting Sportsman, The Double Gun Journal or Sporting Classics.

So long to a friendly and knowledgeable guy.

I only met Larry once at Winter Vegas. I was a bit surprised that he was an exhibitor, since he didn't seem to advertise his wares in the normal venues. I guess he was in the Parker underground and seldom surfaced for the rest of us. In my opinion, his books should have given him a ticket to the PGCA honor roll. His books are just wonderful, but he never got the public acclaim he deserved.

Or even in the Journal of the Parker Gun Collectors Association, Parker Pages.
