I had actually not known that he was still alive until early last year. I had the opportunity to speak with him for a short while on the phone.
He was certainly an early contributor to Parker knowledge and getting the interest out there in the collecting of these guns. |
I talked to him many years ago about the Parker records and a picture I took is in one of his books. He was willing to share his knowledge and got right to the point.
|
Too bad. He had a lot to offer. His ebay site offered some interesting items from his collection. Does anyone remember what his ebay and gunbroker handles were? I would hope that his survivors could use some assistance.
|
As famous as he was he was always willing to answer questions from common folks, like me for instance.

We talked at length about the Parker records and the chance of having them copied. He felt that Remington would not go along with it due to possible litigation. When I contacted Remington they told me they didn't have the records. When I insisted they did they found someone that knew of them and put me off for one reason or another. This was a year or so before the PGCA got involved, I believe.

Sad news

I agree sad news indeed, another Parker aficionado gone, As with the likes of Peter Johnson, Larrys books were ground breaking at the time, They sure planted the seed in me! I bought my first AHE from him years ago, my condolences to his family, Gary
