I put a label on it and tape over it and all the corners and edges with 2" clear packing tape.

One of the good features of "The Dean Box" is it fits in the USP system. Two of us who had guns shipped in boxes made of much heavier wood found that they did not "fit" the system so were just set aside We ended finally ended up getting the guns, but not without a lot of effort and angst.

Thank for the pics!
I was heading in another direction for a solution. Yours is more simple and cheaper. Thanks for sharing this!

All credit goes to Allan Swanson - he showed me how he has done it for years of shipping guns.

At least mine aren't Torx or Phillips head screws.

I use finish screws so they sink below the wood's surface. That way when the box is laid on a piece of furniture by the recipient the screws won't mar the furniture.

You are so thoughtful. Henceforth and forever after, I shall stencil in large red letters, on all surfaces, DO NOT SET THIS BOX ON FINE FURNITURE BECAUSE DEAN SAYS YOU WILL SCRATCH IT

Dean
You make a great box . I wish you would use all with the same head though and include a bit for them.. Am I complaining about a great, FREE, box?
I may have spent too much time around some other members , current and former,
