their products are very big in the modern longrifle world-
i used the stains on each of my builds- but used the Permalyn finish once-
lots of folks seem to like it- but i did not think it was very durable- wet wool mittens lifted it off in a few spots, i may have applied it wrong- but have finished several guns - flintlocks and doubles, with other products and never had that issue with any others
of course- on the other hand, you could always avoid wet wool mittens
