Sorry Brian, I should've been more specific. I was asking for imput on the checkering. I thought it might look odd to checker deep and crisp if I'm leaving the wood as is, not refinishing. Have you ever checkered shallow to get that worn and used, but not abused look? After I finish I'll post some pics, thx

Chris, here is a sample of what you are referring to which Brian did on a 1 1/2 frame 16 for me. The checkering matches the condition of the wood now, previously it was well worn and had to be recut and softened. Wonderful job IMO.

Exactly! After seeing your's I think I'll clean the wood some, and rub in a few coats of finish before I checker it. Brian did a nice job on that! Thanks for the pic Randy!
