If there is the usual unmatted area at the muzzle end of the rib, it makes one wonder why the vendor believes they were cut.

Jent, it would be the LENGTH of the chokes that would determine whether they are original but I forgot you are an expert...maybe Parker cut them or rebarrelled them after 1919, maybe someone faked them, maybe the Book is wrong, maybe...they look cut to me but what do I know...I'm not an expert...

I'm at a loss as to what anyone sees that would cause them to say the "muzzles are suspect". From what I can see the upper and lower keels are in place and the barrels are touching and from what Jent says, the top rib has a "box" where the matting has ended. Aside from measuring the length of the chokes which could always tell a different story it looks uncut from where I sit.

Could you use the barrel weight to help in this case also ? Two inches of barrel have to weigh aliitle bit . I dont know if they included the ribs in that or not. But if someone cut two inches off them I think they would have to relay the ribs to get them that close. But what do I know. If the barrels have been honed would that not change the choke length ?

I have a 16ga VH that was sent back to the factory two months after it was bought to have 2" clipped off the barrels and at the same time ordered a set of 32" twist barrels in 20ga for the same gun. The barrels were cut and no "box" just matting to the end of the barrels, a lyman site was also added. Never say never when it comes to Parkers!
