What Linn said only I'd opt out for a 32" straight grip 16 or 20 or for me, the holy grail, a 32" 28.

LOL!
The cabin was very nice and right on the water with new insulated windows and a wonderful westardly view so the sunsets were out of this world! Lived there in the summers and for a few entire years for eight years. There were several problems. The neighbors turned to black smelly stuff and I was 23 miles removed from my library and gun collection. I tried to fish...it's okay....if you catch fish. What I really love to do (besides drinking scotch) is to shoot clays/trap/skeet and reload for my gun collection which is kind of esoteric. I reload for: 30 Remington, 11 mm Mauser, 45-70, 50-70, 9mm Makarov, 45 Auto Rim and ACP, 45 Long Colt, 8mm Lebel and '06, 308, 222, 243, 303 Savage, 303 Brit, 7/57 and 8/57. I have been essentially away from my reloading bench for 8 years and I've just bought a Rock Chucker, which makes things SO much easier. The cabin was wonderful, but I'm over it. If any of you want a charming little cabin along the Deschutes River in Central Oregan, I'm your man! If/after it sells I am in the market for a light, game gun Parker. I see quite a few for sale. I'd kind of like a 10 gauge lifter, so I'm going to buy all of my raffel tickets. I am sure I'll win. ![]() Sunset off of the back deck of the cabin:

Since I made my original post I've been looking over the gun sites and see that with 5K I can buy a nice Parker. It is kind of exciting tho, just thinking about it.

The DH is a nice grade to look for that shows a lot of Parker's quality without being too much. Same goes for the grade 3 hammer guns.

Where's the cabin, Manhattan
. A small bore, long barreled VH in great condition is understated elegance... Good luck with both the sale and purchase.. Hey, your last name is the same as mine... could you be that long last uncle with the sweet cabin I heard about when I was a kid?

I second the liquor store, business is good when the economy is good and people are happay and good when it's down and people are sad. Sometimes I think the family business is in the wrong liquid, oil.
If I had 10K to blow I would find a nice CHE or nicer DHE, straight stock, long barrels, original... What ever you decide to do, don't rush and buy something just for the sake of buying.
