Default Home Made Shipping Box

Because a few folks have asked, here are a few pictures of a box I just built and shipped one of Austin's guns to a member.

It is made of 1" x 3" pine (which actually measures 3/4" X 2 1/2") and 1/4" luan sub-flooring.

There is nothing unusual about the protective packing - just bubble-wrap and synthetic 'cheese curls'.

Hmm

I don't suppose Edgar would let you ship in one of his.

Of course he would but currently my costs are about $9/box. I would have to increase my shipping charges substantially if I had to use one of his boxes.

Dean how are you getting to the Post Office these days, dog sled or snowmobile?

How do you make them for $9 when you have $18 worth in screws?
I make mine just the same, but use a few dozen less screws securing bottom and top. I use torx head cabinet screws so the heads don't pull through the plywood.
