Default 10 gague strength.

Hi All.
I've just watched a Tv show called mithbusters. On this show they tried to
confirm or dispel the mith if you put your finger in the end of a gun barrel and
fire it the barrel will peel back like a banana. As we all know this a load
of bull++++ and the rubber hand was blown up. Then they welded a steel plug
in the end of one tube and fired again This time 3ins. unwound from the end
of the barrels and the top and bottom ribs came off back to the breach ends.
But there was no damage at all to the rest of the gun including the breach.
The gun was a 10 bore shot gun with demascas barrels. The shells used for
this hurendous experiment where 31/2ins. nitro solid slug. Now for the whorst
part of whole excercise the gun was a very nice looking PARKER BROTHERS
10 BORE HAMMER GUN. I think this just goes to show how strong these wonderful old guns are. But if you must do the above why o why do it to a
lovely old parker hammer. I don't think that tv show will be the same for me
again.
All the best Dave.
