This is more of using components than anything else . Years ago I was very particular about shot size , after I quit competing #8 was the do all . But now I’ve gotten a pile of shot from estates of friends no longer with us etc . So if ya got it why not use it .

I have an EH 28” and a Grade 0 top lever 26” that would do okay for dove/quail should the need arise . But I expect the little VH 28 and perhaps the VHE 20 will get the call .

How much heft would be considered light for a 10 ga?

I think my W&C Scott crystal indicator gun is 8 or less . It feels light after hefting most of my others although my EH on the 2 frame with 28 inch barrels isn't what I'd call heavy .

I too would consider any 10 ga under 8 lbs is a lite gun in my book....but a 9 1/4 lb 10 ga don't feel heavy the way a parker is balanced....charlie

Charlie, I have one 9 lbs. even and it balances in a way that it seems light until it's not between the hands so to speak. Every one who handles it says the same thing, that it handles like a much lighter gun. I tell them '' quality shows in many ways''.
