10’s
1 Attachment(s)
Started late last week on some 10 gauge stuff . Mostly light target/dove/quail loads . Red Dot 18.6 grains and 1 1/8 ounces of shot . Done about 275 with #8 shot another 260 with #7 1/2 and I’ll load 100 more Monday with #9’s to give me 250+ of them . Also loaded the handful of RST/Chedditte 10 gauge hulls I had as well as about a dozen 10 gauge with an x10x has seal instead of the SP-10 wad and enough card wads to get the 730 grain slug crimped to suit me , pushing these with SR7625.

I don't shoot well enough to differentiate between 7 1/2, 8 or 9
My target loads (skeet or clays), are all 1oz 7 1/2. How can 9's break more skeet targets? |
Perhaps with a little more density around the patterns fringe if the target is not well centered???

hope you got a lite 10 ga for those quail hunts...back in the late 1800 s the 10 ga was the preferred quail gun...ive hunted doves with my 10 ga s a few times wish I would have had your no 9 loads... charlie

I too would consider any 10 ga under 8 lbs is a lite gun in my book....but a 9 1/4 lb 10 ga don't feel heavy the way a parker is balanced....charlie

Charlie, I have one 9 lbs. even and it balances in a way that it seems light until it's not between the hands so to speak. Every one who handles it says the same thing, that it handles like a much lighter gun. I tell them '' quality shows in many ways''.
