Default CHE ingraving?

My recently purchased gun is up at Del Grecos repairing the ejectors and general inspection.I will post some pics when I get it back.
Both sides are the usual pointer and setter, very well done.
The bottom however has a leaping stag, not a deer..looks like a European Red Stag.
Has anyone seen this engraving on other guns?I have looked at many pictures and on the webs and have not found this engraving ??

The stag, and often the hind too, are common engraving subjects on the Grade 4 Parkers.

Here's mine, an 1896 CH Bernard gun.

Oh well... can't really see the running stag in the picture but trust me, it's there.

James,

You're saying that both barrel sets are 12 bore and that one set is rifled?

Thanks, Dean

James, we need to hear more about that gun. I would assume it is Doctor Snavely's old gun. Dr. Snavely was quite proud of it but I don't know if he ever shot bullets out of the rifled barrels.
