Upper New York State

Hi, I am John and I have been studying and collecting hand engraving since 1993. I have started cutting steel plates for about a year. I took Jesse Houser's NRA class last year.

I have 6 commisioned hand engraved guns, 2 revolvers and 2 lever guns I also have 1 factory engraved ruger and 1 factory engraved Winchester and 1 Charlies Daly Superior Grade Trap shotgun. I also have 1 RCA commissioned single-six revolver.

Learning to spot good quality engraving doesn't happen by accident, looking at many samples is the key to gaining experience in both bad and good engraving.

I don't actually have a parker but I have a Book written by Ed Murerlak. I bought it from Ed at the Pittsburgh, Pa NRA show 1997.

There are a number of engraved gun photos included to help you grade your guns.

John, if you'd like to see some fantastic engraving on Parker shotguns you should buy Vol. I & Vol. II of The Parker Story. It is the "bible" for serious Parker collectors.

Some of us have a copy of every book Ed wrote on the Parker Gun...... some of us have a copy of every book written on the Parker Gun since Peter Johnson's book.

We would like to see pictures of engraving you have done. You should post pictures right here.
