Longshot avaliable
It looks like 4lbs Longshot powder is avaliable from BP, Precision and Grafs this morning. International at BP but limited to two 14oz bottles, with hazmat of $37.00 that doesn't makes sense to me.

For Ballistic Products use code HAZ21X for $19.95 haz mat fee

BP is 130 for 4 lb and have 8 lb for 230.

I just bought a bottle of Longshot for $31 at OutBack Arms in Plympton, Mass. My dilemma is that I normally use 20/28 for my 20 ga 7/8 loads. While Longshot may be used for 20 ga reloading, its basically a magnum powder from what I've read and I don't want to shoot magnum loads (20 ga) thru any of my vintage Parkers.
I need a light load recipe for this powder. Would 14.2 grains powder bring the pressure down sufficiently? Anyone have a suitable recipe for 20 ga field loads with this powder for vintage parkers? |
From the Hodgdon website:
20ga Load 2.75" Cheddite Hull Ched 209 Primer 21.3 Grains Longshot Rem RXP20 Wad 7/8 Oz Shot 7800PSI 1300FPS |

I can check my spreadsheets--lots of loads listed using Longshot, I've never tried longshot myself. |
There are probably 100 loads with Longshot listed on the spreadsheets, almost all come from the Hogdon reloading site, great place to check out

Harold, I'm using Winchester Universal hulls (20 ga.), W209 primers and WAA20-20 wads.

If this doesn't come thru, we will try something else.
Hard to take pics of a computer screen. |
Harold, that recipe is working just fine for me
