Parker assisted opening feature?
 

I have a DHE 12 ga., which presents a unique feature. The ejectors are compressed beyond the sear engagement, so that when you open the gun the ejector spring provide enough force to move the gun open. Either if it was discharged or not. This is a result of the ejector rods being a bit longer than normal. It is a later gun, 220,000 SN range and was back in for service on two occasions.
Is this a Parker option, or perhaps something Remington did later on or a mistake. I find it hard to believe it would be a mistake, as it is too obvious in operating the gun. :coffee:

I haven't heard of that feature on a Parker. I wonder how that came to be.

I have noted a little bit of a spring open on Parkers with ejectors on a number of guns where the kicker legs are pushing back on the hammers a tad when the forend is seated. But not to the extent that you describe.

the only assisted opening feature I have on a Parker is the heavy 32" barrels on a 10 gauge
