Trojan Model
I recently purchased a 1914 Trojan model, and I was wondering how to take it down. There isn't the usual release switch on the bottom of the forend.
Slide your finger between upper part of forend where it meets the barrels. Pull straight away from barrels. Can be tight. There is a plastic tool available for sliding in there to pry with, but finger pressure should do it.
It has been my experience that if the forend is very tight you can break a chip of wood from the tip... I’ve done it.
I sell the tools Rick refers to. Shoot me a PM and we’ll trade mailing addresses etc. . |
Yes Dean's tool is a great one to have. Works like a charm
A blunt plastic letter opener or "bone folder" as used in leather working works great and in the same manner.
Kevin is right but be careful which 'tool' you use. Some can mar the barrel blue or the underside of the forend wood.
For those interested I am posting this link from a few years ago. 2010 to be exact. Today's price is $9.00 shipped. http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthr...d+removal+tool . |
