Gun insurance

Wasn't sure where to post this, and it's probably been asked and answered before. Any suggestions about insuring multiple guns? My homeowner's policy has some limitations and I'm trying to decide if I should try to up that coverage, or look into some sort of gun-specific specialty policy. Thanks...

Like David said talk to Jack at Eastern and he will take care of your concerns. I have had their insurance for over 15 years. Any other questions.....

Corvens Gun Insurance. Have coverage on the way to and from the field (and of course while hunting).

Hmm...requested a quote from Eastern and got it back pronto, then emailed Jack with some specific questions and didn't get a reply. Sent another email asking if he got my first one and got an auto "out of the office until 9/4" reply. Here it is 9/11 and still no response. Makes you kinda uneasy about claims, etc. if the rep won't get back to you.

Phil, give him a call, I have never had a problem

What are the rates?

Phil Yearout 09-12-2014 10:00 AM

They have a blanket policy for unscheduled items with a limit of $35,000 if no single item is valued over $10,000. $100 deductible, $125.00 per year. Probably wouldn't work for you but it would cover me. But there are a lot of unanswered questions, like 1) what proof of ownership is required, 2) how is value determined in event of a claim, 3) is it $100 per gun or per loss if multiple guns are claimed, 4) does coverage extend outside the home, etc.

I'm mostly concerned about a total loss due to theft, fire, etc. so it might work for me. It's certainly cheap enough but I need some clarification.

Phil, it covers outside the home too, and damage when hunting or shooting an event, also covers a gun you just bought at a show or whatever and it was stolen. Coverage also includes coverage outside the USA which the NRA coverage does not. It covers just about everthing.

I have Eastern and had an unfortunate accident. I could not be happier with the prompt service I received. 2 thumbs up for Jack and Eastern Insurance.
