Damascus GH pic's
Don't see serial# on the barrel unless it's behind the extractor? https://i.postimg.cc/MTdmSJnN/IMG-3355.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/SN69cpr9/IMG-3354.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/T2kFGZmr/IMG-3356.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/sXbnGRJ8/IMG-3360.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/4dGyfYDF/IMG-3352.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/mkJGrqc2/IMG-3353.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Z5Y1S4sF/IMG-3359.jpg

Serial numbers are stamped on LEFT side of barrel lugs. Your picture (1st) is showing the right side.
O.K., Thanks
I think that the “2” on the forend iron indicates that it was a 2nd forend, likely for a 2nd set of barrels.
If I'm not mistaken the 2 is for "G" grade.
Eddie, Steiner is correct. The 2 on the forend represents the second set of barrels.
There's also a 2 on the water table of the frame and underlug of the barrel.
The 2 on the water table is the stamp for the grade… 2.

Each of those numeral 2s on your gun means something different.
The 2 on the bottom of the barrel lug indicates the frame size of the gun -- Attachment 132165 the center to center spacing of the firing pins 1 2/16-inch. The 2 above the serial number on the watertable of the frame is the Grade of the gun -- Attachment 132166 The 2 beneath the serial number on the forearm iron indicates it is the forearm for and number 2 set of barrels. Attachment 132167 The number 2 set of barrels should have a numeral 2 stamped on the bottom of the forearm loop like this gun -- Attachment 132168 |
We hope you have purchased this great gun.
Yes a number 2 on the forarm loop and serial numbers match on the barrels. https://i.postimg.cc/FFq0rgBG/IMG-3369.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/jqgYLCHM/IMG-3368.jpg

Beautiful barrels do you have both sets?
Negative on the other set. I'll try to find out tomorrow.
Those barrels were added after 1910 as they are fitted with the stepped wear plate.
That's good new's of the newer wear plate.Good eye. Maybe the original barrels were damaged and sent back for a new set, rather than it being a two bbl. set from the start.Would there be a letter of documentation on this shotgun?
After 1910 virtually any Parker that was sent back to the factory for any reason also received the new wear plate and bolt gratis and there are few records, if any, of this having been done that would show up in a research letter.

If you haven't joined yet ,you should do so because the cost of the letter is Greatly reduced when you are a member and offsets the cost of your letter ! Other than that there are many other perks to being a member in the PGCA ! |
Thanks Brush Buster. Did that and it say's there are records.
