I've got a VH 28 ga 26" on an 0 frame that I can shoot fair to middlin .

But I shot a VHE 28 ga 30" at Hausemann's and I liked it a lot . I also shot a VHE 28 ga 28" at your shoot this past weekend and I liked it as well .

I suppose the only fix for this is to keep mine and add both 28 and 30 inch 28 gauge guns .

But then again I've not had a VHE 28 ga 32" in my hands as of yet . That might be the fix all !!!!!!!!!!

A 16ga or 20ga with a straight grip.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to 20 and 28 ga. guns but not limiting it to just Parkers. It's really hard to beat a Fox smallbore for handling and their chokes are serious business. Not to leave out Lefever and Ithaca, Winchester and Browning ( both Superposed and BSS ). Minimal barrel length is 30" and close to original as possible. Straight grip is a big plus. Don't like pads, single triggers or ejectors for that matter. But I wouldn't kick a nice 28" out of bed.

I would like a 8 ga hammerless 36 inch barrels 4 inch chambers....a 10 ga hammerless with 3 1/2 inch chambers steel barrels 36 inch long a 12 ga 3 inch chambers and 36 inch steel barrels and tight chokes....charlie

I have no desire to buy a 20g gun. Had enough of them over the years, but there is ONE I would probably snap up if I could: a 28" Trojan in 20g. That would be the one. I got a call from a guy today out of the blue, he had one, he saw a small quote I wrote in a newsletter and he sought me out as he's selling his Parkers. He wanted $5,000 firm and I thought that was a bit much for a Trojan. I could be wrong. But I passed up a nice 20g VH for less than $4,000 so it didn't make sense to me. But when the right field gun comes along in that species, I'm ears.

The 2 or 3 guns I should never have sold.

I am currently enthralled with GH/GHE guns. I like the engraving pattern and the general all around look of the grade. I will begin searching for a 16 ga. and a 20 ga. in the near future. Damascus is fine, straight stock preferred, and barrel length ?????

Whats not to like ?

Two of three Damascus 20s: a 1920 GH and 1904 PH doing what they were intended to do on wild Missouri Bobs. There's a BHE in the safe somewhere...all with high stock dimensions.

Don't worry, Reggie, barrel lengths are 28" and 26." No 32" small gauge Parkers in my safes so far. I promise to leave those for you.:bigbye:
