Tough on our hunting dogs in this time of deep winter. Worked a little yesterday with my Llewellin who is getting cabin fever. Good thing he has spots or I would loose him in the snow:eek:

We had a melt then it froze. My backyard was an ice field. Now I have 6 inches of heavy wet snow on top of the ice. Daisy hasn't been out in weeks, we are both going a little stir crazy:banghead:

We got 6 inches of heavy wet snow and I had the driveway plowed for the first time all winter. The wife and I are old school, we shovel. Now I have huge banks of heavy wet snow that I doubt a 458 round could pass through:eek:

I learned to ski in the military in Vermont so I know the New England winter's. October would be much better...but it's such a short month:rolleyes:

My two youngest setters are almost all white. Nice in the fall but hell in the winter. The Astro makes it a bit better.

How are the birds doing? Any reports? Already looking forward to my trip up there next fall. I heard from some of the cover dog trialers that the woodcock are staged up in Delaware just waiting for the right conditions to head north. Won't be long now, just hang in there.
