Well it has been a fairly busy bird season so far. I hunted in South Dakota and Nebraska for a week . I returned from SD just in time to start the Arkansas duck season.
It was my first trip to SD and I was amazed at the shear number of birds , it was truly amazing.
First a confession , I used 2.5 in bismuth 6 shot and killed birds like crazy. I have read several threads about using smaller loads and thought it was poppycock . I am from Arkansas the land of 3 and 3.5 in magnums and thought a smaller load just couldn't / wouldn't be possible . Well I was wrong so hat's off to the more well informed. The 2.5's fired flawlessly out of my Gh with open chokes .
Now to my true passion , duck hunting . The famed Arkansas duck season has started to a fair to middlin start : 20 opening day and 16 and a snow goose Sunday . I know this is a Parker web site but I don't have a 3 in Parker . I do however own a 3 in Long Range LC Smith that was more than enough for the ducks .
I am posting a few pics of my dog's who have enjoyed " Their " hunting season so far.
