Dave ,The 28 had been redone years ago by Kerrs of Beverly Hills if it hadn't have been already redone ,I would have never touched it ,also it wore one of the Kerrs pads ,also had some pretty sorrowful case colors and a Home Made Very Large beaver tail Forend , as a side note ,the Barrels are 30" Long and with the Beavertail ,although there was an extreme amount of work that went into it ,it really made the gun Front Heavy ! Brad Recolored it put an original Period Nibbed Pad on it and I had an original OO Frame DHE Forend which he Fitted ,Finished and shipped her home !

Daryl ,I mentioned last evening ,I have been searching for a duplicate mat ,but to no avail ! The hat is a Filson ,I have owned it quite a while ,but I purchased it at Nemacolin Woodlands her in Pa. when they were still in business ,up on Rte. 40 ! They still have the Gun Museum open on the Weekends as far as I know ,at one point they had 37 or so Parkers in there on display with one of every model Winchester ever built so the story goes ! The one Parker was a Beautiful high condition 8 Ga. ,Old Charlie would give Both his eye teeth for I am sure ,I'm not positive but I think I recall it being a D Grade and I know for sure it was a Hammerless !

Russ, The gun looks like Brad did great work. Will the beavertail still fit on the gun if you decide to use it? Wonderful....

Hi Dave ,I am just getting in ,left this morning with the Family ,we drove down to the Cabelas Wheeling store for the day and had Dinner at a Little place called Cheddars that is located near Cabelas ,the Food was very good ! I wanted to pick up a Slicer for Jerky that should attach to my 3/4 HP Stainless Grinder ! Thank you for the compliment on the gun and yes I suppose the Beavertail would still work if I had an extra Forend Metal for it ,But in all honesty ,I don't know why I would ever put it back on ! Great Pictures Russ, Old Chip looks like he is riding high on his catch even in his old age. Every bird is as precious as the first.

Whenever I stop at Cabela's in Scarborough, Maine I always go next door to Famous Dave's for a feast of ribs! Now that stop is a "two-fer".

Richard ,Thank You , These OO Framed 28's are such special guns ,you hate to see them messed with ,or at least I do ,If this gun or any Parker for that matter was original and just Patina'd nicely , this is just my own personal line of thought here but I would never have it refinished , but after they have been messed with ,a gun such as this in my mind should be brought back by a Professional who attempts to follow the high standards the Gun Makers did originally ! Also ,nothing wrong with carrying a " Pretty Gun " ! Best ; Russ

Russ, great looking gun! I assume you must live in Pa. since you were at the Wheeling Cabelas--Not to be nosey, but what part. Ican see the lights from Cabelas from the hill in my back yard. A great local restaurant to eat at in Wheeling is The Alpha---their motto is Dead animals-good food-cold beer! The bar is filled with alot of old taxidermy mounts and the restaurant part has old Ostahaus prints of setters. I'll be chasing some ringnecks and woodcock in Ohio for a few days and then after those big Ohio bucks next week onmy farm in Ohio.

Hello Harold ,Thank you for the compliment on the gun ! You are correct ,I am located in Pa. we are in the SW Corner of the State , East of Pittsburgh ! Good luck with those Ohio Bucks also ,man they do get some Big Boys out that way,I have a Buddy who moved to Pa. years ago for work , he works with me and his Family owns a Farm in Ohio's Bootleg ,Boy they always get some Dandy Bucks !
