This pair of DHE 28 ga's sold for $54,000 four months ago. One gun was very nice. The other had been poorly gunmangled but was rescuable.

A couple of us looked, but in the end a person bought them who will fluff them up and resell them.

Makes a 28ga Parker Reproduction at typical prices an absolute bargain.

You're absolutely right Bruce. To the untrained eye (with the exception of the serial numbering and the markings on the barrels of the Repros) it would be difficult to distinguish between the later originals and the the Repros.

Looks like a nice shooter, the wood looks refinished and the checkering pointed up.

The floor price is $37,500. So which one of you fellows is going to get it? Its only $10,000 more than the per gun price on the pair of D's I showed above.

Another example of seller wishful thinking on Gunbroker.

Just goes to show you can't believe everything you hear. Bruse wht do you mean by the floor price at $37K? I was told it didn't have a reserve, is the $37K the reserve bid?

Nice gun, probably restocked but done well.

$37.5 is a minimum bid and nothing less will be accepted. I guess you could call it a reserve.

Rich the last auction ended without the high bid (~$9,500) meeting reserve. It has been relisted. The new listing has a minimum starting bid of $37,500. I bet if you bid that you are over the reserve too.

Best,

Mike

It's good to know I can learn something new. I also know I won't be bidding on it....a mans got to know his limitations:biglaugh:

High bid $9,500 and then he puts it up starting at $37,500? My Dad has a 28 gauge repro which is a perfectly nice gun and one just like it is about $5,000 +/- on the various gun websites.
