not the hulls.

A winter project, 1901 PH 32" full and full, #2 frame, Twist barrels of course. Have to love it when the first shot with a gun brings down a bird. Shooting one ounce of number 8, low pressure. Got there after 2 p.m. and best spots taken so had to get in a hole (bottom), so chose something that would reach out. One double and several birds at forty steps plus. Fifteenth bird for limit was one at about fifty steps (they never look that far when you are trying to get that last one).

Opening day for Canadas also but not a goose was seen or heard the entire day!

Unless you reload Nice Shot into light loads.. I wouldn't shoot geese with shells light enough for twist steel barrels

There are 1.25 ounce loads under 8000 psi and 1.125 ounce loads under 7000 psi. The barrels are .042 at their thinnest anywhere, much thicker at the chokes, mint bores. Reloading American E shot. With a number 2 frame, there is more than enough barrel thickness at the chamber and in front of the chamber. You can bet this old gal saw much stiffer stuff than that her entire life. It has probably shot nitro powders its entire life, and probably "high-power" loads most of the time.
