Over the years ,I have owned three 16 Ga. Parkers built on the O Frame ,Two VH Grades and One DH Grade ,We have seen many # 1 Frame 16 Ga. Parkers for sale ,and # 1 Framed Parker Gun pictures posted here of guns that belong to members ,I was wondering if many guys here own 16 Ga. guns on the # 2 Frame and how " Rare " or unique they are ? Pretty scarce. One #2 frame 16 on the market right now does not letter as a 16 gauge, is apparently a factory rebarrel. One #3 frame 16 gauge gun letters as original.

I have seen one #2 frame 16 bore. It was a high grade. AA or A and at the southern a few years back.
That also raises the ? of 16's on 1 1/2 frames. Any of those around?

Bill ,The gun " that was on the on the market now " has the Forend Iron stamped with a # 2 , If this is the same gun ,Wouldn't that have been a Two Barrel Set ?

The barrels of the 3 Frame 16 must have been pretty heavy.
Russ, I have 3 hammerless 16s; an 0 VH frame with 28", a #1 frame VHE with 26" and a 1 frame DHE with 30" The only 1 1/2 frame guns I have seen were 12ga in higher grades. I don't get away much, so what I see isn't much compared to someone like Bill.
Two barrelled guns had the number 1 & 2 stamped below the serial number on the forend iron.

Well lemme tell you, that little road trip sucked the steam right out of my boiler.
Dave, The B is the one we talked about at Safari. It was very carelessly cared for over the years and there's alot of scratching on the floor plate. Interestingly, it has no birds, but a pair of setters on one side and a pair of pointers on the other side. There's a pair of elk on the floor plate, but the scratches somewhat detract from the engraving. I traded even up on an H&H bolt gun I was tired of looking at, so no harm. It's a 1 1/2 frame with 28" tubes, and has a lovely gold PG cap. It would be interesting to letter it to see if the name is the original owner.
The 16 is a DHE on a 1 frame with 30" barrels and came from John Frierson, the author of Memories Of Carolina Bird Hunter. He's pictured in the book, holding the gun. It still has some color and apart from the sling swivels, is all original. It was originally on GB a while back. It's Rubber recoil pad has seen better days, but then, so have I.
Russ, I'll try and get some pics of them in the next day or so.

I have a 2 barrel DH on a #2 frame. The book shows it as 12 gauge with 30 inch Titaic barrels. The gun also has a set of 28 inch Damacus barrels with a separate forfend both numbered to th gun. The gun weighs 7lbs/8oz. With either barrel. I just sent it to be restored.

The #3 frame 16 weighs 8 pounds, 13 ounces with 28" Vulcan Steel barrels.

Perhaps the past owners of this B should have bought a C, and a case with the money he saved. But, given time, I may be able to get it looking a bit nicer. I'm not sure where to start at this point; wood or metal.

Here are a couple pics of the DHE 16. It's a pretty nice gun but doesn't boast anything noteworthy, other than a vaguely interesting provenance. I just love 16s.

Edgar ,Both very nice guns ,They appear to have been enjoyed by previous owners ,just as they were intended to be ! I am sure if a person desired ,the B Grade could easily be brought back to its former Glory ,it still looks like a very nice gun to me ! Thank You for posting the pictures !
