I got out for pheasants during a bit of a cold snap earlier in the month. I shot my favourite pheasant gun, a straight stocked Parker GH 12 gauge with damascus barrels. It's a hair over 6.5lbs and choked mod and full.

I was hunting with a cousin and his dad was our camera man. He took some pretty incredible photos.

Those are great photos! Congratulations. How long are those long looking barrels?

Thank you! I'm always incredibly grateful for the opportunity to get out after those beautiful birds. All the better when it's with family, friends, and good dogs.

Those barrels are 30 inches long. The stock is a little short, it's got something like a 13 3/4 inch length of pull, so that may be part of why the barrels look so long.

This was up in the prairies of Canada around the Manitoba - Saskatchewan border.

Looks like beautiful country with pheasants in the shelter belt to boot. Congratulations.

Great photos! Thanks. Could we get the specs on that pup also?

It's an 8 year old German Wirehair named Tequila. Unfortunately it's not my dog, but I do get the pleasure of hunting over here a couple times a year. Her drive is unreal.

No orange on your headdress. You must reside in a free state.

For better or worse, the opposite. I live in Canada. In my province you only need to wear orange during general deer rifle season. That being said, I'll wear more orange if I'm on public land and or I think there will be a lot of hunters out.

I wish I could move to Wyoming. I love the wide open space.
