An advertised estate sale with a Parker AHE 1923.
I called the woman in charge of the sale and asked the price.
She replied, 17 thousand dollars. It sure looks nice in the picture.
I might even have to drive over just to see it in person!!!
If I do, I will try and get some photos to share with all of you.
Here's the pic from the ad.

Jeff, I for one am glad that you haven't listed a phone or address. According to Mr. Murderlak's book, "Parker Guns", Shooting Flying and the American Experience", the chapter I read today stated that a desirable high grade Parker may come along once or twice in a lifetime and I would hate to have this gun count as ONE, as I have to pay for a wedding in two weeks and it will be a while before those funds are replenished!

Hi Jeff. I copied this from the Blue Book. Take it for what it is worth.
AH Add to Collection
- a scarce gun, extremely decorative and flawlessly executed, Acme steel barrels. Approx. 300 mfg. 10 ga. is very rare in this model.
Add 25%-50% for ejectors, depending on original condition (AHE Model).
Add 20% for SST.
Add 20% for beavertail forearm.
Add 40%-50% for VR (rare on smaller gauges).
Add 20% for straight English stock.
Add 20% for original skeleton steel buttplate (standard on Grade D/3 and higher).
Add 20% for short barrels (26 in. with open chokes) on 12 ga.
Add 20% for 30 or 32 in. barrels on 28 ga. or .410 bore shotguns.

AH .410 bore Add to Collection
- it is believed that only one gun was manufactured.
Rarity precludes accurate pricing.
I propose that my furnishing of this information would merit you furnishing me with just the street and city names.
Best,
Mike
Edit - addressed my post to Mark instead of Jeff. Corrected that.

Things are good in the oil patch! I've owned an air conditioning, heating, and plumbing business for 29 years. When gas is $3 I have plenty of money. When it is 80 cents I can barely afford it.

Hi Jim. I took no offense and was just kidding Jeff about moving in on his find. I should have put a smiley face after the last sentence in my post.:)

Howdy All,
I sincerely didn't post this thread to tease. I was just excited at the time
over the discovery and wanted to share. My plan is to see the gun today
after work. I might ask for some help from you guys after I have the serial number to match the gun with any records available. I will get dimensions and try and get some decent photos. I hope work goes quickly today.
Best regards,
Jeff

Hey everyone,
I just got back from looking at the shotgun.
It was advertised incorrectly. :banghead:
Sorry for the bogus post.
I'll be much more careful before I post something like that again.
Very disappointing!!! :crying:

Jeff

Some years ago I was involved in something like this, but it wasn't a sale, more of an attic gun..... turned out to be a nice VH 28 ga., shooter quality, needless to say I snapped it up like a mud turtle.

Dave I swear it is not showing up on my screen. I also clicked Jeff's "Find more posts by Jeff" drop down box and couldn't find it.
Could you provide this blind hog a direct link please?
Thanks,
Mike
