Can anyone tell me if a butstock from a 12 ga VH would fit a 20ga VH? I have an old VH 12ga parts gun from a number 2 frame that has a real nice stock and I’m thinking about buying a VH 20 that has a stock that doesn’t look reparable.

No, it won't work for you Elvin. Huge difference.

You MAY be able to rework it by thinning the head down to match the 20g frame. But that is a big variable to work through. But it will not just work without major alterations.
And, it would be more of a chance of doing the above successfully if it is a 1 frame 12g stock. Not a 2 or 1-1/2.

Sir So if I understand you correctly, the actual metal mounting components that attach to the stock would somewhat fit but the bulk of the stock would have to be trimmed down to fit the 20ga. As I said earlier the stock I have is off of a 12ga number 2 frame and I believe the 20 gauge is a number 1 frame. If this doesn't work out what would one of your stocks run to fit this old 20ga?

With very few exceptions, the 20ga was built on a 0 frame. As Brian alluded, it's possible to fit it with a lot of work. I'd start with setting the top tang in the stock, and bring the bottom of the stock up to meet the receiver, then thin the cheeks down, and reshape the cheek curve. The biggest reason for not doing it would be the proportions would be very heavy, and quite bulky looking.

You may be right about the frame size being an "0" size, I have been trying to contact the seller for more info but no luck yet. It sounds like I might be better off just having a new stock duplicated and rough inletted to work with. I have built and fitted a couple of stocks before. An old Winchester 1890 and my Dad's old Remington model 11. I live in Warsaw Missouri and we have 3 gunstock company's here in town.
