Spent a week in Essex County. It rained a little more than I hoped, but time well spent. First point of the season was a Woodcock, and I was a little surprised at how many we found. Four Grouse total taken. Last year it was still in the low 80's, so we went a week later.

It's always nice to go home to Upstate NY.

Man, I wish it were mine. It is the guest cabin at the club I belong to up there. At $10 a night, it can't be beat.

Hamilton County was about the same WE before last. Nice time to be in the Adirondacks. We have a similar “camp” on Cedar River in Indian Lake. Hope to get back up before deep winter.
