Did a tower shoot in WVA 10/29/23 shot a Parker Grade 1 10 gauge top lever hammer gun 32” barrels tight and tight on a #3 frame guns a little over 9 pounds . Was shooting handloaded 1 1/4 ounces of #6’s pushed with 30 grains of SR7625 . I didn’t kill all the birds in the pictures just what I brought home . We were shooting pheasants , partridges and pigeons . One pic is pheasants and the others partridge .

Going back to the same place 11/4/23 and will shoot the same load but in a Parker Grade 1 10 gauge top lever hammer on a #2 frame sporting 30” barrels that are more like mod and full somewhat lighter gun as well . I’m planning on doing five shoots at this place by the end of the year and use a different 10 gauge each trip .

Yes I waited until the other participants took what they wanted and then took what was left .

Looks like a lot of breasts for the "Friday Night Feed" at the 2024 shoot!

Gotta get enough in the freezer for my yearly consumption , the Southern this coming year and yes the Friday night deal at your place ! I hope next week I can get 3-5 deer on the ground as well . This Saturday our ML season starts unfortunately I’ll be shooting at feathered critters . But I just may be out first thing Sunday morning .

I used up my last bag of partridge from last season today . We had the cutlets with spatzel , coleslaw and tater salad . So I may be into this years partridge a little quicker than planned !

We normally get invited to a pheasant tower shoot around Thanksgiving. Maybe I will take a 10 gauge this year

The one tomorrow 11/3/23 I’m debating whether to shoot a 2 frame hammer 10 or a circa 1889 EH 2 frame . Both have 30” barrels .

Shoot them both!
That’s a thought but I don’t wanna haul them both around the circle .
