The old Parker EH 10 gauge was able to connect with a few doves during the Pennsylvania opener yesterday. It's the first time I have taken her out for doves since acquiring her from another member here. She was a blast to shoot with some 4 1/4 dram Olde Eynsford loads pushing a healthy dose of 8.5s!

I also enjoyed being upwind of my buddies with their autoloaders, although they may not have agreed :rotf:

Will you be toting one around this year?

Alex, I have a similar GH 10 that goes with me after Fall turkeys and waterfowl. It's a 32 inch gun made in 1902. A grade three hammer 10 (1883 also with 32 inch barrels) with more open chokes likes waterfowl, too. The 10 gauge is a nice companion on a hunt. I'll bet they swing well on dove.

That sounds like a great collection. I only have one 10 that has 32 inch barrels, a Remington 1889 choked XF/XF. All of the rest are 26, 28, and 30s so they are fun to hunt just about anything with!
