1st NH Bird

Our NH spring turkey season opened on May 1st, had a good day., called in 8 birds missed 2 :eek:. but did hit the last one. i was using my NH 10 ga. with 32 in barrels choked .038 in both. shooting 1 3/8th oz 6's. This is the 1st turkey i have shot with this gun. bird was 19 lbs with 3/4 inch spurs and a 9 1/2 in beard.

about 35 yds. he just dropped dead with out a wiggle out of him, i never had one do that before.

A good, clean head shot will do that every time. Nice shooting.:cool:

none of my turkeys I shot ever just dropped they kicked around for a while...now a few deer I shot never even batted a eye.charlie

I have missed birds before but not like the 2 i missed that day, both birds i got with in 10 yds with not a thing in the way. wide open shots. :cuss: needless to say , i was beside my self. i said more than "pull". See you soon .
