A beautiful Grade 2

Problem with damascus is they make every fluid steel barrel look like every other barrel.

What is the name of that pattern on the barrels?

Dean Romig

Drew Hause calls it 3-iron crolle star Damascus.

Thank you, i have a 10 with that pattern under a cold blue that i have been thinking of having redone.

What Dean said. This is another Grade 2 10g refinished by Brad Bachelder

Esp. at the breech of Jeff's barrels (ground less thin) there are very prominent black & white "stars" which makes this pattern particularly attractive to my eye

12g refinished by Dale Edmonds. Easy to see 2 wavy 'zipper' welds between the straight ribband edge welds = 3 iron

You should be able to take the cold blue off with a weak acid such as vinegar. The barrels may have good original patterning visible. Some people cold blued Damascus barrels to disguise them as fluid steel.

I once bought a 1903 GH 12 gauge that had blued over Damascus barrels.
I sent the barrels to Dale Edmonds for refinishing and the pattern was really interesting however, the tubes didn't match, in fact the different ribbands didn’t even match, which made me wonder if Parker had blued them for this very reason.

Having the barrels refinished cost me more than the gun. The 30" barrels had been cut to 27" and I used it exclusively for Skeet.

Thank you, i did that and found that the original finish had been removed and looked bad.

Anyone who thinks they can removing bluing and there will be original finish (damascus or case color) “hiding” underneath is seriously kidding themselves.
