We had another great trip to SD again this year. Stan Hoover and I made the trip and met 4 others out there. Weather was cold and wet but when you are into birds it sometimes doesn't matter. Notice I said sometimes.
1. The 28 gets the job done.
2. Stan with his 8 gauge. He actually lugged the beast through a couple of
fields and did real well on flushing birds.
3. The crew. L-R Tom Damiani, Milt Fitterman, Moi (for you boys in NEPA
that's means me), Stewart (embracing his first ever SD rooster), Stan (the
man) Hoover and last but not least Jeff Stegmeier.
4. The stars of the show. Parker in the foreground and Fox working a rooster
in the snow.
5. This one is for the Asst. Editor of PP.:bigbye:

Looks like you had a great trip. I can’t imagine carrying an 8 gauge through pheasant cover, but many’s the time I wish I had one when a rooster flushes far out and with a tail wind.

FWIW , I shot a round of trap with my 7 frame 36” 8 this past Tuesday . I was straight midway thru station four but that heavy bugger tired me out and I missed three targets in the final eight

Is your 30” 28 on an 0 frame ? A friend in the RVA area has one but I don’t think I could afford it even if I could persuade him to sell it.

It's a OO frame.

This is a nice thread that Daryl started, but I figured I should "class it up" with my 1910 16 ga. DH.

I sat at a gun show table for three days straight, maybe more, with Daryl's 30" 28 gauge sitting on the table next to mine with a for sale tag attached. With a couple of 28s "in the bag", I let Daryl's gun slip away.
