I'm new to this site as I inherited this gun from my dad. I know he had it for some time and I don't remember him shooting at all. It is in good condition except for some rust between the rib and barrels. Is there any one in Philadelphia area who can confirm that it is safe to shoot and fix the rusting issues? Below is what I believe to be accurate from this site:
Parker Bros Shotgun-Produced 1909
Serial# 151198
Frame Size = 0
Parker GH - Grade = 2
Gauge = 20
Thanks,

The gun appears to have been completely “restored” at one time. Wood, and metal. I put that in quotes because some of the finished used are not completely factory correct. Case colors look to be cyanide type with some wear. I cannot tell of the barrels are damascus or not. But either way, they are refinished and if you have rusting at the ribs, which I can see some in your photo, that is a serious concern and the gun should be looked at closely.

Dom,
Looks like a very nice gun in great condition. I would start by removing the barrels and lighly working on rust removal in the area shown in your picture. Apply a good gun oil in the rust stain area along the rib and let it set for a day or two. Then take a simple cotton cloth and see how much can be removed by wiping. I bet a lot of that stain will be removed. Then I would follow your first instinct and Brian's advice.

Thanks for the input. I'll have it checked out locally.
