You know what they say, I'd tell you but then.....

Just kidding, its our 40 acres in NE MI. We have killed a bird every year since 2009 except one. We have permission on multiple properties to hunt. I am more of a run and gun hunter. This was the first year I used decoys as we have struggled on one field where the mature birds will hang up in the middle and gobble.

My daughter only started 5 years ago. Since then she has killed 4 birds.

Nice birds. Congrats to you both! Can I inquire what you used for shot in the VH? Our season opens the 30th and am hoping to use my VH 12ga with full and full. I will be patterning it next week. Thanks

That was 2 3/4" Winchester (Gray box of 25 rds) No. 4 shot. Nothing special. Never even patterned it to be honest. Growing up we never patterned shotguns. Then, about 10-15 years ago I started patterning and found out that really in the ranges that we shoot birds it doesn't matter. My bird ended up being around 30 yards on a fast trot after she shot. She planted hers at 22 yards.

Thanks, she's 17. Also plenty of whitetail under her belt.
