Harry's shooting continues to progress. Yesterday he moved up to a 20 gauge and shot 25. Today he shot 50 and even got 3 out of 4 at one station. All with a Parker

That is great Mills!!! I am sure it was nice to get out to the range and and have your son shoot his 20 well. Does his gun have a straight stock...I like it!

My oldest is 8 and I can't wait to do the same in a few years.

Glad you two had a great day!

Mills you will never regret the time spent with your sons. It will pay dividends for the rest of your life. Had a BIL ask how I raised 2 great kids and told him spend every minute you can with them. Also gave some credit to his sister too.All kidding aside they will always be your children but they will also be your best friends.

Mills - Have you checked his eye dominance? Starting them out with the correct eye alignment will pay dividends down the road. A friend of ours (National NSCA Champ, 2014) realized that altho his son was right handed, he was left eye dominant. Started him as a lefty, and the kid became an All American. If that would happen to be the case with your so, converting him to shoot right handed would give him access to a lot more RH configured guns.
BTW - I'm right handed, but LH eye dominant. Have had to shoot with left eye closed my whole shooting career. Am too old to change now. Do as I say, not as I do

Way to go Mills. You are fortunate to have a place to shoot. All ranges around here are shut down. Going through clays withdrawal.

Te left I dominant I to am left I dominate and shoot left handed he should be shooting with both eyes open that is the only way to shoot goods scores in the shooting sports besides in today’s world there are many left hand guns not like in 1973 when I started shooting trap and skeet . Just saying

I started the children and grandchildren on a 20 gauge with 3/4oz of shot at a modest velocity. My oldest grandson is a junior at Ole Miss and appears to be home for the duration of the semester. We shot wobble trap Saturday with six other geezers. He was shooting his click-o-matic duck gun with full choke and was crushing them. The seeds you sow today Mills are going to reap joy in your heart for the remainder of your life. It warms my heart to watch your young men grow.

We are going to get him some lessons soon if things calm down. My cousin is a coach for a high school shooting team and said he would do it

Peter Scott coaches the juniors. His son, Gains, is on that teaming and his son Harrison is on the seniors.

Seeing the development of a young shooter makes me more optimistic about the future, and I think we all need a bit more optimism right now.

Thanks for sharing those photos, Mills.

He is using my VH 20 for Turkeys now. We worked one hard no luck. Harry's wing bone calling was most impressive

Wingbone calls are not all that easy to master. Congratulate him for me on calling skills.
