I recently dug out a 1920 VH(E) 12 gauge with 24 in barrels out of my dad's closet. It doesn't appear to have been cut but I haven't seen much info on a 12 guage Parker with 24 in barrels. How do I find out if it's factory or not? I typed in the serial # in the record search and didn't show any records. Thanks for any help

Show us a photo of the TOP of the barrels at the muzzle end, and a pic of the muzzles. What smthe serial #?

I own a VH with factory 24” barrels, they are out there.

Is anyone else having difficulty viewing the pics or is it just me?

From what I can see it looks right. Not the best pic of the end of the bores so I will ask, do the barrels touch at the ends ?

Either list the serial number so someone can look it upor send in for a letter

They do not look like they were cut to my eyes.

Better pictures of the top of the muzzles and the face of the muzzles would help us identify your gun as original, or not.

Chad; I blew up the pics and they do not look cut and the barrels appear to touch. Check the chokes that will tell us more.

They would appear to be original but better pics sure would help. Get closer to the subject and take a pic showing the muzzle end straight on and not at an angle. Rare configuration if it's right.

the gun falls into one of the large gaps in the serialization book. but a close look at your pics indicate that the gun is either right, or that someone worked hard to make it appear right.

It looks right to me . I have a DHE 20/24, letters . I’ve seen a couple correct 16/24 ‘s but this is the first correct 12/24 that I’ve seen , and not just a chopped barrel gun. Interesting. Chokes may not tell much, it may have been ordered cylinder bored. I have a CH 10/26 cylinder bored, letters.

In tight brush conditions I really appreciate the short barrels. If a person extends his leading hand the tendency to overswing can be tamed.

I have a PHE16 24" that if I remember right has been cut. No chokes at all. Bruce has seen this one. It's a woodcock killer for sure!

A close look at the end of the rib will tell us more than a face on picture of the muzzles. Some original guns have separated tubes at the muzzle and some cut guns are touching at the muzzles. A look at the rib will tell us more.
